CEO & FOUNDER
Lǐ Chóng founder and CEO of HelloChinese. He obtained his bachelors Degree of Information Engineering at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications. He completed his speech recognition studies at Tsinghua Universty. Lǐ Chóng has also worked at Microsoft specializing in speech Recognition.
THE HISTORY
The reason for creating such app was “Requirement” said Lǐ Chóng. He felt that as China's influence increased, more and more people would need to learn Chinese. However, there was no global brand tool to appropriately learn Chinese, so HelloChinese was created. He realized that the internet would be the next wave in China. He paid close attention to related products and started to research on Chinese as a foreign language. With his knowledge on telecommunications, speech recognition, and the need of "Chinese as a Foreign Language" in the market, the app was launched.
THE TEAM
As of 2017 the company has about 7 employees, including local Chinese Mandarin teachers and Chinese Podcast host. The combination of skills and education is the perfect match; they have the technical skills and the knowledge on teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
